The service
Operator (getoperator.dev) gives you a hosted instance for running coding-agent sessions. The service is currently in beta: it is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind and without an SLA. Features may change, instances may be restarted, and things may occasionally break while we build.
Your Anthropic account
Operator runs agent sessions against your own Anthropic/Claude account, which you connect inside your instance. You are responsible for that account: its credentials, its usage, any costs it incurs, and staying within Anthropic's own terms of service. We do not resell Anthropic access and we are not responsible for charges on your Anthropic account.
Acceptable use
Your instance is yours to build with, within limits:
- No illegal content or activity.
- No abuse of compute — instances are for running the product, not for bulk workloads unrelated to it.
- No cryptocurrency mining.
- No attacks on other systems, other users, or the platform itself.
Instances run with egress policies and resource caps that enforce these limits technically as well.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service. We may also end the beta, or your access to it, at any time — if we do, we will give you notice so you can retrieve your work.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Operator and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including lost data, lost profits, or costs incurred on your Anthropic account. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (during the free beta, that is zero).
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top and notify account holders by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
